Travel Effortlessly with Sheraton's New 1-Hour Gems

Sheraton’s Effortless Travel program is an exciting new initiative that allows all hotel guests to get more out of their destination.

The first of three solutions in Effortless Travel is PackPoint, an ingenious app that helps you plan and customize what you bring in your suitcase - factoring in things like whether and your itinerary. Always lost as to what to drink to order with your food? Then Paired, an online guide covering several Asian destinations, allows guests to mix and match local tastes with the best wines and beers at one of the Sheraton’s lobby bars.

Finally, the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers is most excited to tell you about our new and exclusively curated 1-Hour Gem guides. This mini-itinerary has been put together by local experts, allowing guests to take in all the best sights, sounds and smells of the local neighborhood - all in the space of one hour!

Discover the Royal Orchid Sheraton’s three local ‘Gems’

The Royal Orchid Sheraton’s new 1-Hour Gem guide recommends three different exciting activities to choose from, all within a walking distance from the hotel, and all requiring just one hour to get there, explore, and get back to the comfort of your room!

First up is Talad Noi, a historical market neighborhood (the name actually translates to ‘small market’) packed full of interesting sights. Simply walk 10 minutes north from the hotel up Soi Wanit 2 and you’ll be in the thick of the action. Look out for the vibrant street art, piles of scrap metal overflowing from workhouses and, if you’re hungry, this is the best place to try some local street food, including Chinese-Thai duck noodles or spicy Southern curry.

The second activity lined up for you in this 1-Hour Gem guide is the fascinating Sol Heng Mansion. Dating back more than 20 years - making it one of the oldest surviving buildings in the area - the mansion showcases some superb Chinese architecture and colorful murals painted on the walls. Originally constructed by the powerful Sol clan as a place for Chinese aristocrats and merchants to stay, Sol Heng Mansion today doubles up as a diving center (making use of the stunning central swimming pool) and beagle farm!

Finally, the third and final pick for your one hour is Klongsan Plaza, a compact but busy market situated just across the Chao Phraya River. You’ll need to take a short boat trip from our Sri Phaya Pier next to the hotel, and the total journey time is only 15 minutes on foot including the boat ride from Si Phraya Pier, giving you plenty of time to eat and shop your way through this vibrant local market. Venture past all the stalls and across the road to find the cool-kids’ favorite Jam Factory, home to some highly-recommended cafes, art galleries and boutiques.
